The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, better known as the Guggenheim, is an international art museum in New York City that features both traditional and contemporary pieces, from paintings to sculptures to film screenings. Families will love the museum for its interesting architecture — the circular building is eye-catching and intriguing for all ages. Walk up the spiral pathway and take in the culture with kids. Tours are given daily at 2 p.m., when gallery educators take guests through the various exhibits. Specifically for families, Sundays feature a Just Drop-In event from 1 to 4 p.m., that is included with admission. During this time, families and kids get a better understanding of the artwork on display.
The Guggenheim is open Sunday through Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. It is closed on Thursday. Admission is $25 for adults, $18 for students and seniors, and free for children ages 12 and under. Additionally, visit between 5:45 and 7:45 p.m. on Saturday and pay what you wish for admission.
