When your kids tired of riding roller coasters and exploring Ghost Town, you might think of spending a day at Knott’s Soak City, the huge water park which sits across from the main park. It’s a separate admission fee, but you can find deals that combine admission to both parks. Soak City is open during the summer months, from May to September, when you really need a way to beat the heat. Among its rides and attractions are Pacific Spin, a wild waterslide that drops 75 feet into a 6-story funnel and Malibu Run, a complex of fast slides. There is also Toyota Beach House, a 3-story, kid-friendly play area complete with slides, water guns, waterfalls, and more. Parents will appreciate floating Sunset River, a nearly 2,000-foot-long lazy river, where you can sit back with beverage in hand and let your cares float away. There are also plenty of places to relax, grab a bite to eat, and just enjoy the California sunshine. Soak City deserves its own day, so it’s not a good idea to try to combine it with a morning or afternoon at Knott’s Berry Farm. There’s just too much to see and do at the main park.
