When the mountainous terrain of Acadia seems too intimidating, head to this gentle paved path along the shoreline of Bar Harbor. The path wends its way for about three-quarter of a mile, passing by gorgeous scenery that is both natural (pine-studded islands in the bay) and man-made (majestic mansions on the shore). It’s a great path for an early-morning run or a leisurely evening stroll, and is especially handy for younger kids who are not yet ready to test their mettle on the mountains.
