Throughout the theme park, dramatic shows featuring animal stars come to life with the aid of theatrics, music, pageantry and aerial acrobatics. For the whole family, “Pets Ahoy” and “Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island” are not-to-miss productions that combine animal antics with slapstick humor. For the latter, be sure to arrive early for the mime pre-show. In Shamu Stadium, “One Ocean,” a killer whale show that debuted in 2011, captures the stage and the hearts of guests, with amazing tricks and a message of unity.
Over at Whale and Dolphin Theater, “Blue Horizons” will astound you with dolphins, divers, false killer whales, exotic birds and acrobatics. Summer and the Christmas season bring a number of special productions, from a rocking Shamu show to a Sesame Street tribute to a skating spectacular. Timing of Reflections, the nighttime fireworks show, varies according to season. To secure a seat at the shows, plan to arrive 15 to 30 minutes early — or earlier during school breaks and the holiday season.
