Come explore these 55-acres located in the midst of Golden Gate Park, filled with over 8,000 different kinds of plants from all across the globe. Families are invited to explore Redwood Grove, or dabble in activities such as Family Adventures. These activities are catered to children ages 3 to five, and include a garden walk, circle time with stories and crafting.
The Garden is open daily starting at 7:30 a.m. and closes one hour after last entry. Last entry changes seasonally, so please visit their website for more information. Admission is free for all members of the Garden, San Francisco City and County residents (with proof of residency) and school groups. Admission for non-residents is $7 for adults, $5 for youth ages 12 to 17 and seniors 65 and older, $2 for children ages 5 to 11 and free for children 4 and under. Families containing two adults and children all under the age of 17 receive a discounted rate of $15 in total. Free entry days are daily from 7:30 to 9 a.m., the second Tuesday of every month, and Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Years Day.
