Interested in ghost stories? Rose Hall has quite a few! Built in 1770, the house was a great plantation home, led by a powerful mistress who is said to have killed her husbands and lovers. The nickname the White Witch of Rose Hall remains to this day, and tour operators and staff report sightings and unusual happenings at the house, which also conducts nighttime tours. Johnny Cash, who owned a house in Rose Hall, even wrote a song about the White Witch, the “Ballad of Annie Palmer.”
