Anyone visiting Ireland should take the scenic and utterly gorgeous drive around the Ring of Kerry. The two-lane road twists and turns through heavily wooden national forests with waterfalls, climbing mountains, expansive scenic overlooks, and beachside passageways. However, kids may not be as equally impressed with a drive that can take at least three hours, if you can avoid tour bus traffic. Villages dotting the drive makes for great snack and lunch stops, and a chance to meet locals eager to give their insight into their towns, but again, kids may not be impressed.
