The most famous attraction in Long Beach, the Queen Mary has a rich history as a cruise ship that once attracted big names of the 1930s like Bob Hope, Clark Gable and Winston Churchill, and later became a troop transport during WWII.
Of the one-hour tours available, families with young children will probably get the most from the Glory Days tour, which gives an overview of the ship’s story. Teens may be more interested in the exhibit featuring the gowns of Princess Diana or the many paranormal-themed adventures on offer. Haunted Encounter tours, séances and haunted ship walks are a few of the options sure to make teens giddy.
It’s worth checking out the calendar of events, as there are live music performances, art festivals, and even circuses throughout the year (tickets are sold separately, however).
