The Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center offers families hands-on exhibits and activities that focus on extreme weather conditions. Get caught in hurricane winds, struck by lightning and then try to forecast the weather yourself. Movies are shown in the Catastrophe Theater, too. The Center is located in a former 1914 federal building and post office that is now on the National Register of Historic Places.
Admission is $5 for adults and children ages 2 and older; infants and toddlers under 2 are free. The Center is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday and Thursday through Saturday between January and March; Monday, Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday in April, May and September through December; and Monday through Saturday between June and August.
