Often regarded as one of the best beaches on Kauai (Hawaii’s most family-friendly island), a trip to Po’ipu is an absolute must for families trying to partake in some of Hawaii’s best sights and sounds.

A perfect spot to lounge around in the sand or hang out and have a picnic, it is common to share the beach with sea turtles and sometimes even seals. It’s also home to some of the best snorkeling on the island, and fish will often swim right up to the shoreline and relax.

Though it can get a bit crowded at times, it never becomes overbearing. Po’ipu’s waves are moderate, which makes them excellent for swimming, boogie boarding and lighter surfing. The beach’s parking is plentiful, and there are bathrooms and showers onsite.
