Situated less than 30 minutes outside of downtown San Juan del Sur, this beach is perfect for families. The beach is wide and lifeguards are on duty in high season. Note that the surf can be somewhat rough at times (and good for surfing). A surf camp can be found here, along with a turtle nursery.

A restaurant is situated onsite and offers lounge chairs and hammocks (if you’re lucky to nab one). There are trees near the restaurant for shade.
