Something of a hidden gem, Pennsbury Manor is the recreated estate of William Penn, who lived there from 1683 to 1701. Guided tours, which last 1.5 hours, include visits to an authentic Manor House and Kitchen House, where families enjoy cooking demonstrations and more. Visit the first weekend in December for Holly Nights, when bonfires, carolers and candlelit tours are featured.
Pennsbury Manor is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, and 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday; it is closed in January and February. Admission is $9 for adults and $5 for children ages 3 to 11.
