Bowling is an excellent way to spend a rainy day with the whole family. And in Orleans, that usually means taking a trip to the Orleans Bowling Center. Though a bit dated, the 14-lane alley is clean and well maintained. If your kids haven’t played much before, a lane with gutter bumpers can be arranged. And for the younger kids, the alley offers candlepin bowling. Candlepin bowling involves thinner, candlestick-shaped pins and smaller, lighter balls (typically 2.5 pounds). And with such inexpensive rates, the trip won’t leave a hole in your pocket. If the kids get hungry or need a break from the lanes, there is a small onsite arcade and snack bar.
