Have a meal fit for a king while you dine at the outdoor patio of the Orangerie Palace in the city of Kassel. Orangerie is the German term for greenhouse. This Baroque palace was once well known for its impressive array of exotic plants, and the conservatory that housed them all winter. Although the royalty is gone, you’ll feel like aristocracy while strolling or dining al fresco amidst the exquisitely manicured palace gardens. Some nights have live music as well.

Inside the Orangerie, you’ll find a stellar planetarium. Next door is the ornate baroque Marble Bath Pavilion, a luxurious bathhouse built in the mid-1700’s.
