This large museum is a favorite of local L.A. kids for its sheer diversity of cool exhibits. The recently installed Dinosaur Hall (with T. Rexes aplenty!) is fantastic. Other interesting attractions include the mammal halls, with full-size dioramas featuring animals in their habitats; an insect zoo; and exhibits on California history. The special exhibits (extra fees) are worth seeing, such as the seasonal butterfly and spider pavilions.
