This building that once housed the Costa Rican Army headquarters and training base (the country’s army was abolished in 1948) now tells the story of the country’s history. A butterfly garden greets visitors as they enter the museum located in the heart of San Jose. Families can enjoy learning about the history and culture as they walk through the biology, agricultural, anthrology and archelogy exhibits.
