You can’t miss the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s unique shape on the Springfield skyline. Named for Dr. James Naismith, who is said to have invented the game in 1891, the hall is home to more than 40,000 historical artifacts. Kids love the ball-shaped structure and families will enjoy attending basketball events year-round. Be sure to visit during the hall’s 60 Days of Summer program, in which a new free giveaway, guest or event takes place every day between July 1 and August 31.
