The Museum of Indian Culture in Allentown, Pennsylvania, was founded in 1980 and is a non-profit organization that focuses on educating guests on the history of the Indian culture in the United States. Featured exhibits, such as the Spirit Dolls of Native America, run seasonally and change often. Other displays feature artifacts, such as tools, ceramics, carvings, photographs, weapons, beadwork and basketry for the native people throughout the Western Hemisphere. Guided tours of the museum are offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The museum hosts workshops, programs and events throughout the year. Parents and teachers can sign kids up for programs like the Woodland Life Skills program, which teaches kids about the early days of hunting and gathering. Special events that all can attend include the Three Sisters Harvest, a food collection event that takes place year-round, as well as the Roasting Ears of Corn festival that takes place in August every year.

Hours and Admission

The museum is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and is closed during the winter holidays. Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for children ages 12 to 17, and for seniors over the age of 65; children ages 11 and younger are free.
