With over 30 museums in Malaga, Museo Picasso is not to be missed because Malaga is the birthplace of this influential artist. View over 200 works from the various mediums Picasso explored in his prolific career. See the complicated portraits he painted in his young years and learn how he spent most of his life learning to paint like a child.
The video of Picasso with one hand in his pocket, painting simple, continuous strokes succinctly demonstrates his talent and brilliance.
Tour through the galleries viewing collages, ceramics, and, of course, Picasso’s popular cubism paintings. Notice the animal elements he incorporated into images of people, like fish eyes and aggressive teeth. Take an audio tour or just wander the palace grounds that house the museum and see what you see.
The oldest Roman Phoenician remains in Malaga are in an archeological site under the museum, which you are welcome to walk through. There are ramps for strollers and wheelchairs.
