The Mount Vernon Trail is an excellent biking trail that runs through Arlington. Plus, it’s fairly easy and flat. The scenic trail, of course, leads to Mount Vernon Estate in Alexandria.
The best way to go — rent bikes at Bike and Roll in Old Town Alexandria for the trip to Mount Vernon, then hop on the Potomac Riverboat Company’s Miss Christin for a ride back. Packages that include bikes, boat fare and admission to Mount Vernon are available.
