Mount Sunapee Ski Resort

1398 Route 103, Newbury, 03255, NH

Mount Sunapee has 66 trails, with just about half intermediate and a quarter each beginner and expert. Granted, the double-diamonds here barely qualify as a single diamond at Stowe or Sugarloaf, but skiers of all levels will find a good amount of terrain to ski for a day.

There are really three parts of the mountain — North Peak is the smaller of the two peaks, but it has two of the mountain’s most challenging trails, Lynx, a steep racetrack, and Goodbumps, a skinny nailbiter. The Summit, meanwhile has two faces on which to ski. The main face has most of the mountain’s best cruisers, including the popular Ridge Trail, as well as some good glade skiing such as the new Beck Brook Glades. Off the other side of the summit is the Sun Bowl, a collection of intermediate trails that tends to get more sun than other parts of the mountain, making it a popular spot on cold days. Finally, off to the side is the South Peak Learning Center, a small hill full of green trails separate from the rest of the mountain ideal for learners to ski at their own pace without worrying about being overrun by more advanced skiers shooting down from higher elevations.
