At Moravian Tile and Pottery Works, located behind Fonthill, visitors can tour the still-active pottery mill in which Henry Mercer created his famous tiles. Kid-friendly features include a children’s video, in which kids get a short, easy understanding of the museum, plus a tile puzzle and several tile-making demonstrations.
Tiles are available for purchase (many people visit just to shop at the store), as well. Moravian Tile and Pottery Works is open 10 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. daily (the last tour begins at 4 p.m.), and admission is just $5 for adults and $3 for children (ages 7 to 17).
