The Mercer Museum, located in Doylestown, Pa., might as well be called Henry Mercer’s Attic. During his lifetime, the tile-maker and archeologist collected a menagerie of random, quirky items, and all of said items can be found at the museum, where they hang from the walls and ceilings, creating a fantastical display. Notable items include a Conestoga wagon, and plenty of hands-on fun adds to the appeal for families. A separate, colorful area welcomes kids with games and other interactive activities, too.
The Mercer Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 12 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $12 for adults, $6 for children ages 6 to 17 and free for those 5 and under.
