This 1838 Gothic Revival home rests along the shore of the Hudson River and has made appearances in films and television shows. Lyndhurst, once owned by railroad baron Jay Gould, is open May through October, Fridays through Sundays. The home and gardens are available to tour 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tour admission starts at $18 per person.
In October, Lyndhurst features Jay Ghoul’s House of Curiosities, where the home is transformed into a “Disenchanted Castle.” The indoor haunted house tour is appropriate for all ages and is offered in the evenings.
