Give kids a thrill with a ride on the Lutsen Mountain Tram. It drops into a valley at Lutsen Mountains ski resort, crosses the rushing Poplar River, and makes a dramatic rise up the craggy side of Moose Mountain. Grab a snack at the Summit Chalet with its sweeping view of Lake Superior and take a short walk to the second best view: an overlook that faces Mystery Mountain and its blaze of red on fall color weekends. Keep following the path for a wooded, rugged loop hike around the top of Moose Mountain. It takes about 45 minutes with toddlers in tow.
