The kids will love exploring this rural community that represents a working plantation, folk architecture, and the Gulf Coast region. There are 32 buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries situated throughout the 25-acre property. Guests are able to walk the property and explore buildings, inside and out. At the Exhibit Barn, you can examine artifacts and treasures used in everyday rural life up to the early 20th century. Inside the Visitors Center, you’ll also find exhibits detailing Louisiana’s history during key periods like the Industrial Revolution, as well as a small gift shop.
