For a pretty place to picnic, you can find cozy, shaded shoreline spots all along Lost Lake, which is tucked into the Hood River National Forest between Hood River and Mt. Hood. You also can camp or rent a rustic cabin here, but it’s especially popular for day hikes, kayaking and standup paddleboarding with views of Mt. Hood as a backdrop.
