Head inland about 30 miles and you’ll discover one of Florida’s most popular attractions outside of Disney. Lion Country Safari is the only one of its kind in Florida, providing an up-close experience with more than 900 animals. Both drive-thru and walk-thru safari options are available. The adventure park also features animal feeding experiences, animal encounters and animal displays, as well as a water playground, a safari boat ride, and nine rides and water slides. Onsite dining is available at the park’s African-themed restaurant that serves standard American fare; there is also a snack shop available.
The park is open daily, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with admission about $30 per adult, $22 per kid age 3 to 9 and free for children under 2.
