Lincoln City Beach is one of many gems in Oregon. Known as the Kite Capital of the World, Lincoln City hosts a few kite-flying events annually, and coastal winds provide prime conditions for surfing, windsurfing and other water sports. The beach, which stretches several miles, offers a few restrooms and is located near restaurants and accommodations.

Be sure to search for glass floats on the sand — they’re part of a program called “Finders Keepers.” If you find one, it’s yours to take home.

Lincoln City is located approximately two hours from Portland.
