This small, one-floor museum is perfect for a rainy day or break from the heat. More than 60 exhibits encourage kids (and adults) to experiment with various aspects of science, including Structural Engineering (build a miniature bridge and create an earthquake) and Electricity and Magnetism (generate lights and motors and see the actual shape of a magnetic field).
Admission is free for children under 2, $7 for kids ages 3 to 15 and $8.50 for adults; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The Lancaster Science Factory is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 12 to 5 p.m. on Sundays, Memorial Day through Labor Day. Winter hours vary.
