Start at the visitor center (where parking is available), then make your way into Kejimkujik National Park. You could spend an entire day (or more) at the park or just a few hours. If choosing the latter, head straight for the Beech Grove Trail, a 1.4-mile loop that’ll take you past a swimming hole that’s frequented by families. Many people bring rafts to float on, and it’s popular to jump from some of the rocks into the water.
Camping is also available at the park, and campers are treated to a fantastic view of the stars at night. In fact, Kejimkujik is a designated Dark Sky Preserve. Artificial lighting is prohibited, leaving only the night sky to illuminate the park.
Admission
Unlike U.S. national parks where there’s a flat entrance fee per vehicle, visitors are charged per person at national parks in Canada. Here, the rates are $5.80 per adult, $4.90 per senior, and $2.90 for kids. Family/group pricing is also available.
