The beloved children’s stories of famed Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren, of Pippi Longstocking fame, come to life at this indoor playground and soft-adventure amusement park of sorts on Djurgarden Island. There’s a restaurant, theatre and a well-stocked kids’ bookstore onsite (with English tomes, too!). But the far and away favorite attraction for all ages is the fantastical Story Train ride that takes you on a colorful journey (in English and several other languages, if you desire) through Lindgren’s fabulous tales. Dates and hours vary year-round. Admission is 145 SEK ($22) for adults and 125 SEK ($19) for children 2 to 15.
