By far my children’s favorite port excursion was meeting the sled dogs at this musher’s camp. While the summer means no snow, sled dogs pull a gold cart for a twisting and turning ride. (There are snow adventures, typically on top of Mendenhall Glacier, which requires a helicopter arrival.) You’ll have a chance to meet the sled dog puppies as well and take a short walk over a suspension bridge and creek. The small company really gives kids a chance to get close to the dogs.
