If you are staying at a Four Seasons resort on Lana’i, you have use of lounge chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling equipment and sand toys at this beautifully pristine beach on the southern side of the island. Otherwise, if you’re staying at Hotel Lana’i, you can rent snorkeling equipment from the front desk for a small fee. You’ll definitely want to give snorkeling a try here in this calm bay. Dolphins often frolic in the bay — they are so fun for kids to watch! Note that the resort does not lend its snorkeling equipment if dolphins are in the bay, as staff would prefer that the dolphins are left alone to play in their own natural environment. Still more to do at Huluope Bay: admire the marine life — including plenty of crabs — in the tide pools, and make the short hike to Sweetheart Rock for expansive views of the ocean. Keep an eye out for whales, December through April!
