Homestead Heritage is a “an agrarian- and craft-based intentional Christian community,” according to its website. About 140 families live here on 550 acres of land north of downtown Waco. Visitors are welcome to visit six days a week and watch demonstrations, participate in some of the crafts made onsite and eat the scratch-made cuisine in the highly rated restaurant.
Kids may enjoy watching the blacksmiths at work, making a pinch pot in the pottery workshop, seeing the grainary in action or just roaming through the woods and hills that give Homestead its rustic natural charm.
