Within 30 acres, you can witness just about all the area’s history between 2150 B.C. and the 1920s. Once the estate of Chicago socialite Bertha Palmer, of Palmer House fame, it features the lovely gardens, pergola, and aqueduct she had built in the 1910s. You can tour by tram or foot to visit the cutaway of an ancient Indian shell mound and burial grounds, a pioneer homestead and family chapel, a Victorian-style home, and a recreated citrus packinghouse.

Reserve ahead for the guided tram tours and remember to bring bug repellent in warm weather. Local actors perform living history weekends in the winter season. Kayaking and eco-tours are also available.

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Last admission is at 4 p.m.
