Known widely as one of New England̢۪s best beaches for kids, Herring Cove boasts low-key waves (read: little-to-no undertow), warm waters (for Cape Cod, at least), unusually soft sand, and plenty of lifeguards. Families tend to convene to the right side of the beach, close to the restroom facilities, parking, and concession stand. Stay until dusk if you can; the sunset is one of the most stunning in the region.
