If you aren’t staying at a resort on the water, Gull Lake Recreation Area is among the area’s most popular public beaches. It has camping, picnic areas and sits along the new 11-mile paved East Gull Lake Trail. The trail connects bicyclists to Cragun’s and Madden’s resorts, which each have dining and refreshments along the lakefront.
