Help your kids reel in a big one at this community gathering spot, the largest pier on the Gulf of Mexico. In summer, the possible bounty ranges from whiting, pompano, redfish and red drum to Spanish mackerel and King mackerel. In winter, whiting and sheepshead are common catches. Anglers ages 12 and up must purchase a fishing permit. Kids under 12 fish free with a paying adult. A saltwater fishing-license (available at the Pier office) is required for those ages 16 and up.
