From 1755 to 1762, the Acadians (descendants of French settlers in Canada) were exiled from their homes in Nova Scotia. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Grand Pre National Historic Site honors their story, offering a museum, gardens and memorial church on the grounds where many Acadians settled. A kids’ audio tour is available inside the church, where children can also dress as the Acadians did.
Hours
The site is open late-May to mid-October; group tour reservations are available year round. Family pricing is also available.
