These falls are a beautiful sight (taller than Niagara Falls), but be sure to ask directions for how to get there and gas up before you go, as the location can be difficult to find, with little signage and a road that gets rough for the last 8-10 miles. Once you get there, though, you’ll be glad you came, especially after monsoon season or the spring snow melt when the water flows plentifully. The area was once a lava flow, attested to by the volcanic rock everywhere. Usually there aren’t many visitors at the falls, so it’s a beautiful place to enjoy the solitude of the Arizona wilderness.
