When you get into town, visit the Welcome Center to gather info on all the fun things to do and see on St. Simons and the Golden Isles. The St. Simons Lighthouse and Museum are just across the street, along with numerous nearby shops and restaurants.

Don’t forget to ask for a Tree Spirit map. The tree carvings, created by local artist Keith Jennings, can be found throughout the island. Faces, mermaids and mythology lay within the Georgia Live Oaks. Families can also be on the lookout for new Tree Spirits because the bark regrows over the carvings so they don’t last forever; new ones are always appearing.
