Before you set out to see the mighty sequoias, stop by the Giant Forest Museum to learn about the history of Sequoia National Park. The museum is fairly small, with a few interactive exhibits. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it also houses a gift shop.
The museum is free of admission, and plenty of parking is available. Hours vary depending upon season.
