Right beside the Gerald R. Ford Conservation Center is the birthplace of our 38th president, Gerald R. Ford, otherwise known as the Gerald R. Ford Birth Site and Gardens. The original Victorian house caught fire in 1971, and businessman James M. Paxson built the memorial in 1974 following Ford’s succession to the presidency. Guests can tour the property daily from early morning until dusk free of charge.
