The surreal Garden of the Gods is so named because, according to old Hawaiian legend, the rocks now so interestingly posed here were dropped from the heavens by the gods. The landscape is colored by dramatically strewn groups of rock boulders, which look especially magical in the early morning hours. Situated seven miles outside of Lanai City, this site is remote, and the rough road leading to it can be accessed by 4WD vehicles or bikes.
