If you’re looking for some outdoor fun in Philadelphia, head to Franklin Square. As one of the five original squares within the city, Franklin Square is home to a historic fountain, first built in 1838 and recently restored in 2006. The square is also home to the Living Flame Memorial, which was placed there to commemorate Philadelphia’s everyday heroes. After making wishes on pennies in the fountain, enjoy a ride on the carousel or a round of mini golf! There is also a playground for little ones to climb and explore. Parents can sit and relax while the kids play before journeying on to the next sight in center city.
Carousel rides cost $3 per person and children under 2 ride for free. Mini golf is $9 for adults, $7 for kids 12 and under and infants and toddlers are free. The playground area is free. When playtime is over and everyone’s stomachs are rumbling, grab a bite at SquareBurger.
