For a sample of a local forest hike through Cedar and Douglas fir trees with views of Samish Bay, hiker families will appreciate the Fragrance Lake trail on Chuckanut Drive near Larrabee State Park. It’s easily accessed from Fairhaven, and the drive there will give you a taste of one of the most beautiful roads in the state. The hike includes a side trail with an overlook for those views, and at the end, a loop around a small lake. The trail is accessible year-round and popular with local runners. A Discover Pass is required for parking (available online or at local businesses that sell fishing and hunting licenses).
