Fort Negley is the largest inland stone fort built during the Civil War. At the Fort Negley Visitors Center, you can learn more about the fort’s history, as well as the role of Nashville during the Civil War. Outside, families can take a self-guided walking tour of the fort along a paved, half-mile-long path. There are also boardwalks within the fort, along with 20 interpretive panels throughout.
