Known as “Val-Kill,” this was the home of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, wife of Franklin D. Roosevelt. Formerly the Roosevelt’s retreat, along with Hyde Park, FDR’s home, this is the home in which Eleanor retreated after FDR’s death. The home is open seven days a week from May to October, and for guided tours Thursdays through Mondays November through April. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Admission is $10 for adults; children 15 and under are free to enter.
