This small 35-acre zoo is home to a surprising variety of species, and several exhibits have been updated in recent years, breathing fresh air into this interactive and educational experience.
Be sure to check out one of the bird shows or attend one of the enrichment program talks featuring an animal handler, giving kids an up-close glimpse of elephants, giraffes, lions, tortoises and ocelots. Besides the animals, kids love the shaded treehouse play structure and splash pad at the zoo.
The zoo’s focus on conversation is evident throughout a variety of exhibits, including efforts to work with local populations abroad to save reticulated giraffes and prevent lion poaching in Africa. More than 20 percent of the managed peninsular pronghorn population in the U.S. resides at this zoo.
Rates
Admission is $12 for adults; $9 for ages 13-17, senior citizens and military; $7.50 for ages 3 to 12.

The zoo is a member of the AZA Reciprocity Program, currently offering a 50 percent discount for members of other zoos in the network – so bring your membership card from your home zoo with you.

There are two casual dining restaurants and various snack kiosks throughout the zoo offering burgers, pizza, sandwiches, ice cream and more.
